Pakistan, IAEA to further increase technical cooperation
IAEA chief appreciated Pakistan’s safe and secure operations of nuclear power plants in the country.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and Pakistan on Monday decided to further increase technical cooperation to Pakistan.
The decision came during a meeting between the Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Yukiya Amano in Islamabad on Monday.
A press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the IAEA chief appreciated Pakistan’s safe and secure operations of nuclear power plants in the country.
The foreign affairs adviser welcomed the positive role played by the atomic energy agency in development of peaceful uses of nuclear technology in Pakistan.
Pakistan is already one of the top recipients of IAEA technical cooperation. As a member of the IAEA board of governors, Pakistan is also contributing to the agency’s decision making.
