Blast averted: Roadside bomb defused in N Waziristan
The official says militants must have been planning to target a convoy of the security forces.
MIRANSHAH:
A bomb planted by unidentified militants on Miranshah-Ghulam Khan Road was defused by bomb disposal officials on Sunday.
An official of the security forces said militants had planted a roadside bomb near Dirdoni check post in Miranshah tehsil which was spotted by a contingent of the protection unit and subsequently defused.
The official said militants must have been planning to target a convoy of the security forces.
Meanwhile, political administration officials imposed a curfew in the main areas of the agency and tribesmen were informed not to venture out on the main roads due to routine movement of security forces’ convoys.
