According to the Levis sources, unknown persons had planted explosives beneath the bridge and had exploded them with a remote controlled device.

According to the police, unknown culprits tried to snatch a motorcycle from Police Constable Muhammad Azam on Masjid Road, located in the heart of the city. On resistance, he was shot and killed on the spot, and the killers escaped on his motorcycle.
Near Pashtunabad area, an Afghan national Abdul Malik was killed by unknown assailants. After being shot in the chest and the head, he died instantly.
Police have started investigations into the two incidents.
“Several Afghan nationals were killed in Quetta and the police are investigating these killings. It is sometimes hard to investigate such killings as police need to visit the hometown of the victims to collect information regarding the murder,” the Capital Police Chief Abdul Razzaq Cheema said.
