Identity : Plea against Maryam Nawaz dismissed
The judge disposed of the petition, saying the petitioner was not aggrieved in the legal sense.
LAHORE:
An additional district and sessions judge on Saturday disposed of a petition filed by a man against Maryam Nawaz, daughter of the prime minster, for “misleading the nation by concealing her identity.”
Syed Iqtidar Haider said that Maryam Nawaz went around using her father’s name, even though she had contested the election as Maryam Safdar, wife of Captain Safdar.
He said in the notification issued by Joint Secretary Syed Sohail Altaf declaring Maryam the chairperson of Prime Minister’s Youth Programme her name was mentioned as Maryam Nawaz, instead of Maryam Safdar.
He asked the court for directions to register a case against Nawaz. The judge disposed of the petition, saying the petitioner was not aggrieved in the legal sense.
