A severe shortage of food is the main cause of malnutrition and various other life-threatening diseases.
ISLAMABAD:
Most districts of Tharparkar are facing a famine and over a hundred children have died in one government hospital alone since December 2013. Furthermore, thousands of livestock animals, such as sheep, camels, cows and goats have died.
The situation is badly affecting children and women in the area. A severe shortage of food is the main cause of malnutrition and various other life-threatening diseases. It is the immediate responsibility of the Sindh government to provide food and medicines to the people, free of cost, to save their lives. Serious efforts are required in this regard so that further deaths can be avoided.
