KARACHI:

Three men accused of raping a 14-year-old girl in Karachi’s Shah Rasul Colony were arrested by the police on Friday.

According to a duty officer at Boat Basin police station, the incident took place when the girl, R*, was going to her aunt’s house in Shah Rasul Colony. Four men, who lived in the same locality, abducted her and gang-raped her on Wednesday afternoon.

The case was registered on Thursday night over the plea of girl’s grandfather. According to Zulfiqar Ali, the police officer, the four accused are not related to each another. Police have arrested three suspects, while the fourth is still on the run.

The authorities are yet to conduct R’s medical examination even though the incident took place three days ago. For their part, the police said they told R to get herself examined.

On the other hand, the suspects currently in the lockup of the police station denied that they had raped the girl.
