Apology accepted: Warden withdraws case against Akmal

Cricketer Umar Akmal is now off the hook after the traffic warden, who had filed a case against him, accepted to drop charges against him. The traffic warden was convinced to withdraw the case when Akmal’s father tendered an unconditional written apology on Thursday on behalf of his son. Gulberg Police had registered an FIR against Akmal on February 01 for allegedly assaulting a traffic warden after a heated argument when the cricketer was stopped for running a red light. Akmal’s father Muhammad Akmal reached DIG investigation Zulfiqar Hameed’s office for reconciliation. Chief Traffic Officer Capt (r) Sohail Chaudhry and complainant warden Muhammad Zeeshan were also present. After the meeting, the DIG said both the parties have decided to end the matter amicably. He said the warden would withdraw the case against Akmal.
