ISLAMABAD:

Soon after the Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) was reprimanded by a senate body, it has appointed six new permanent directors at the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE).

As part of an overhaul at the FDE, Mehmood Akhtar Malik was given acting charge of director general (DG) of the FDE, replacing Shahnaz A Riaz.

Soon after her removal, Riaz had approached the Establishment secretary, who asked the CADD secretary to withdraw the notification, but the latter turned down the request saying that the notification had already been forwarded to the Establishment Division.

CADD Spokesperson and Joint Education Adviser Rafique Tahir said that they had sent a summary to the Establishment Division for the appointment of a permanent DG at the FDE.

Meanwhile, Farida Yasmeen and Asif Niazi have been appointed as director schools, female and male, respectively.

Ashraf Nadeem has been appointed as new director administration and finance. He was earlier the  director planning and development (P&D).  While the post of P&D has been filled by Taj Bhatti and the post of director budget was given to Ghulam Sohoo.

The Federal Directorate of Education looks after around 424 schools and colleges in the Islamabad Capital Territory. It has been in the limelight for alleged mismanagement and irregularities for the last many months.
