Rainfall: Hub Dam water level increases by six feet
Total storage capacity of dam’s reservoir is 339 feet (RL) and its present level of water is 286.65.

The water level in Hub Dam increased to six feet on Monday after the first winter-spring rain in parts of Sindh and Balochistan. Karachi Water and Sewerage Board chief engineer for bulk distribution, Iftikhar Ahmed, said the water level had gone up by six feet from the dead level after rainfall in the catchment areas of the dam. One foot of water in the reservoir could meet requirements of the western part of Karachi and Balochistan`s Lasbela district for around 20 days, he explained. The total storage capacity of the dam’s reservoir is 339 feet (RL) and its present level of water is 286.65, which means that it is currently over six feet above its dead storage level of 276 feet. This stops the supply to both the provinces, he added. The localities hooked to the Hub Dam include sprawling townships of Orangi, Baldia, Surjani, SITE and different sectors of North Karachi, Shershah, Qasba, Manghopir, Mianwali Colony and Saeedabad.
