KARACHI:
The city court on Monday accepted the petition of Tasneem - sister of Zeeshan who was shot dead by Rangers officer - and ordered that a case be filed against the Rangers official and the deceased’s wife, Express News reported.

Zeeshan, 30, was shot dead in the Nagan Chowrangi area on February 28 when he was engaged in a brawl with his estranged wife.

Tasneem had tried to file a First Information Report (FIR) with the police but was unable to do so, upon which she decided to file a petition with the court. Tasneem expressed satisfaction over court’s order issued today.

After the incident, an FIR was registered at the New Karachi police station on behalf of the victim’s wife, Shafia, who claims that she was being kidnapped by her husband.

However, the FIR was rejected by the victim’s family who held a protested along with hundreds of other people outside the New Karachi police station and near Nagan Chowrangi.
