Health: YDA to field CPSP candidates
Participants express concerns over non-fulfilment of service structure promises despite lapse of 1.5 years.
LAHORE:
The Young Doctors’ Association (YDA) Punjab announced on Sunday that it would field candidates in the College of Physicians and Surgeons election in February 2015. The decision was taken at the YDA’s general council meeting in Bahawalpur. A committee comprising Dr Nasir Bokhari, Dr Amir Bandesha, Dr Rehana Kanwal, Dr Jam Mazhar, Dr Ali Waqas, Dr Jehangir Riaz and Dr Mazhar Chaudhary, was formed in this regard. The participants of the meeting expressed concerns over the non-fulfilment of service structure promises despite the lapse of one and a half years. They said they would hold a protest demonstration against the health bureaucracy on March 25. “The general council has also decided to monitor the government’s health insurance policy scheme to see whether it is trying to privatise the health sector,” said YDA President Dr Javaid Aheer.
