Inflation: SPI up 0.86% during the week
The SPI for the combined income group registered an increase by 0.76% during the week under review.
ISLAMABAD:
The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended February 27 has registered an increase of 0.86% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI for the week under review for the above mentioned group was recorded at 201.44 points against 199.71 recorded in the previous week, according to provisional figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for the combined income group registered an increase by 0.76% during the week under review, standing at 210.44 points against 208.85 in the previous week. Compared to the corresponding week last year, the SPI for the combined group inflated 10.36%. During the week under review, average prices of 5 items registered a decrease while those of 18 items recorded an increase. Prices of the remaining 30 items remained unchanged.
