Not everyone can afford to have hair stylists at their personal disposal, and no matter how much we try on our own we somehow always fail to get the perfect volumised, silky smoothness of a salon blow-out at home. Use this brilliant step-by-step guide by eStylista and figure out the simple ways to achieve swishy-swashy perfectly blow-dried glamorous hair. This is your chance to become a blow dry whizz.

Towel Dry

Once you’ve step showered and your hair is squeaky clean, towel dry your hair. Don’t rub it vigorously as wet hair is prone to breaking. Now, apply hair products.

If you have fine, limp hair use mousse to give volume. L’Oreal Professionnel Techni Art Full Volume Mousse would be perfect. For frizzy, wavy or thick hair, use an anti-frizz smoothing serum like Kerastase Oleo Relax Serum. For dry hair, use the Paul Mitchell Leave-in Moisturizer. Apply some argon oil on your ends to protect your mane against excessive heat.

Blast Dry

Detangle your hair and break out the drier, remove the nozzle and start blast drying your hair while running your fingers through it. Your hair should be just slightly damp before you can start blow drying.

Create Sections

It’s best to divide your hair and blow dry each section. Create four sections; two in the front and two in the back by creating a line across the top from ear to ear and another line from front to back with your centre parting. Clip up three sections and start from the first section at the back.

Break out the round brush

Put the nozzle back on your dryer and start working on your hair from back to front. Wrap your roots around a round brush and pull your hair. Point your nozzle at your roots and keep brushing them out till dry. Do the same on the hair shaft and then on the ends, making sure to pull your hair outwards with your brush. Repeat the process on each section.

The Crown

When you get to the top of your head, it’s all about the volume. Take your round brush and lift your hair upwards while pointing your dryer in front of it. This will help it fall in lush, bouncy locks.

Finishing Touches

Once your hair is dry, roll each section back in the brush and blast it with cold air to close your cuticles and seal your style. Finish off with a holding spray like Schwarzkopf Osis+ Extreme Hold Spray for your look to last.

Now you can feel like a princess too!
