KARACHI: A man identified by the name of Zeeshanuddin was killed in Karachi on Thursday after a Sindh Rangers official allegedly shot him assuming he was a kidnapper, Express News reported.
The man was reportedly having a heated argument with his wife in the street which later turned physical. The security officer – thinking the man was trying to kidnap the woman – fired at him. The wife was also injured in the firing incident.
The incident took place near the Nagan Chowrangi area of the city.
The man was taken to a hospital for medical assistance but succumbed to his injuries.
DIG West Javed Odho said the matter will be investigated according to the law.
Zeeshanuddin's wife told Express News later on that her husband was physically abusing her on the street and when she cried for help, no one responded, and that is when the Rangers official fired at him.
Following the day’s events, the New Karachi police registered an FIR based on the complained filed by the victim's wife.
Police then proceeded to arrested Ranger Rahimullah for allegedly killing Zeeshan at Nagan Chowrangi.

The ranger could have investigated and tried resolving the matter without using any weapon. Killing an unarmed person is unacceptable.
Ice-T: Don't hate the playa hate the game.
will the Chief Justice take suo moto...of Rangers action....D.G. Rangers should be transferred he is involved in extra-judicial killings in Karachi
Rangers take action, they are blamed. They don't take action, they are blamed. Whilst what happened is very unfortunate, I dont think we can blame the LEA. Why has no one asked that why is it ok for this man to physically abuse his wife? In public or private!!
I agree the LEA has no right to decide who is innocent or otherwisw, but in the current atmosphere, I dont think there is an option left.
How can you blame a Rangers official when he is ordered to shoot any offender on the spot??. ET should tell the whole story that the Husband was dragging the Wife in the car and the Rangers thought that it is a Kidnapping incident going on and they shot at the guy which turns out to be a husband. So blaming rangers in this incident is totally out of order. He was doing his duty. Why a husband was dragging his wife on the road in the first place? Either get the weapons from the Rangers or dont blame them then. You blame the Rangers when some kidnapping or mobile snatching takes place and when they remain vigilant in a Sensitive Karachi then they are again blamed. One of the reasons of Blaming Ranger could be his ethnic background.
Pakistan penal Code has no punishment on attempt to rob in the manner it was treated....isn't this high time we rape up the judicial system...!!?? what's the need of courts, judges, lawyer....if such street verdict is so popular amongst the Uniforms!!?? Shame on .....
What you can expect from the lea, when there own leader, AIG was part of similar incident related to MB case.
