The other way round: Sharia is the only way to peace, says JUI-F
Ghafoor Haideri says 70% of the country’s issues can be resolved by Sharia.
MINGORA:
Most of the country’s issues will be resolved by the imposition of the Sharia law, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) General Secretary Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri said on Thursday.
Speaking at the Tahafuz Tehzib-e-Islam Conference, Maulana Haideri said that 70% of the country’s issues could be resolved if Sharia was imposed. “If Sharia is not implemented in the country, it wouldn’t survive further,” he said, adding that they would never let the country become a secular state.
The JUI-F general secretary said his party was struggling to establish peace in the country. He further argued, “People who are unfamiliar with the tribal traditions are made part of the peace committee”.
Haidri proposed that implementing Sharia in the country was the only way to peace. He stated that if the Islamic sections of the 1973 Constitution were followed in letter and spirit many national issues could be resolved.
The JUI-F leader also lashed out at Imran Khan, saying that the PTI chief had promised to make K-P an exemplary province for others to follow suit. However, “vulgarity, immorality, land mafia, corruption and other malpractices are their peak in the province.”
Haidri added that if this was the exemplary province Imran had promised it was unacceptable for the JUI-F and that the party would make all its efforts to resist Pakistan becoming a secular state.
Independent sources claimed that Maulana Fazlur Rehman could not attend the conference due to security threats.
Ghoor Haidri was flanked by vice provincial president JUI-F Attaur Rehman, former Senator and district leader of JUI-F Swat Rahat Hussain.
