Sentence given: DC office worker found guilty
Anti-corruption court sentenced employee of DC office to 2 years each on two counts - gratification and cheating.
KARACHI:
An employee of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) office was sentenced on Thursday to two years each on two counts - gratification and cheating - by an anti-corruption court. Judge Gulshan Ara Chandio of the Special Provincial Anti-Corruption Court sentenced a Naib Qasid of DC West, Mehboob Ali Jatoi, after the prosecution successfully established gratification and cheating charges against him. According to the prosecution, Jatio had allegedly instituted fake files of a plot in Qasba Colony of Orangi Town and allotted it to the complainant of the case, Khalilur Rehman, in 2003. The prosecution said that Jatoi had lured Rehman into buying a plot of two acres in a housing scheme and got around Rs2,500,000 from him. Rehman came to know about the forged documents when he registered a case with the Anti-Corruption police station.
