Trend File: The right hairstyle for your face shape

Shaggy, layered, shoulder-length haircuts are the most flattering on every face shape.

Even a well-executed, well-cut hairstyle on an unsuitable face shape can result in a disastrous effect. Here’s how to get the cut that flatters your face the most.

Round faces

You don’t want to highlight your problems. This means if you have a round face, you don’t want short curly hair as they will make your round face appear rounder, a textured lob (long bob) will look good on you.

Square faces

If you have a square face, you’ll want to play down your strong, angular jaw. Texture, in the form of curls or choppy ends or just a straight bob would do. This will compliment your strong jawline brilliantly.

Oval faces

Oval faces tend to look good in everything, but these faces can appear long, so be careful not to add height on top of the head. Long hair tends to drag an oval face down. Also, if your hair is thick or curly, avoid a blunt cut. You don’t want to look like a pyramid.

Heart-shaped faces

Heart-shaped faces tend to come with pointy chins. Draw attention to your eyes and cheekbones instead with maybe heavy bangs or a layered cut.

All face cuts

Shaggy, layered, shoulder-length haircuts are the most flattering on every face shape. Most celebrities are seen endorsing this cut, because it just simply looks good on everyone.
