Law and order: ‘Security forces’ efforts will bear fruit

The country will overcome the problems it faces, says governor.

FAISALABAD:

Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said on Tuesday the police should take all possible care while registering criminal cases.

Speaking at an awards distribution ceremony at Police Lines, Sarwar said the “valiant soldiers of Pakistan Army” were countering subversive activities.

“Our police, too, are rendering sacrifices to maintain law and order,” he said.

The governor said police and citizens should cooperate to provide justice to the poor.

He said the dedicated team of police and civil officers in Faisalabad would help resolve problems of people in the city.

Sarwar said that he was optimistic that the country would overcome the problems it faced. “Our efforts will bear fruit… police is a font line service. The policemen will be properly compensated.”

The governor praised the police for its role in maintaining law and order in Faisalabad during Muharram and Rabiul Awwal.

He said he would discuss welfare projects for police with Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. “Many problems of police jawans in Faisalabad will be resolved through financial support from industrialists and philanthropists.”

Speaking on the occasion, City Police Officer Haider Ashraf said a number of policemen had been martyred while fighting against criminals.

He said a summary had been moved for the construction of a combined police hospital in Faisalabad. He also sought upgrade of the police high school to a college.

“We need residential accommodation for police employees, construction of barracks at police stations and establishment of eight new police stations in the city.”

Ashraf said the police were planning to introduce online complaints cells at police stations in Faisalabad, besides construction of a monument for police martyrs.

Regional Police Officer Muhammad Nawaz Warraich also spoke on the occasion. Later, the governor distributed awards among policemen.
