An employee of a state-owned bank was arrested from court on Wednesday and sent to jail for allegedly swindling agricultural lands from his mother and siblings.
According to Abbottabad police, Khalid, a second officer at a local branch of National Bank of Pakistan, had in 1999 fraudulently transferred to his name the property rights of nearly 24 kanals of agricultural land situated in Mian de Seri village, Abbottabad.
In November, Khalid’s mother Zaitoon Bibi filed an FIR against him.
Khalid was brought in front of court but managed to secure a bail soon and then promised at a jirga that he would transfer the property rights to his siblings.
Later, he backed off from his promise forcing his family to request the cancellation of his bail. During Wednesday’s hearing, the sessions court judge sent him on judicial remand.
