SHO says the suspects had told police that they sold these bones to people who practiced black magic.

FAISALABAD:
Three men were arrested on Tuesday for stealing bones from a graveyard in People’s Colony, Sharifpura. Batala Colony Station House Officer (SHO) Waheed Shahid told The Express Tribune that Qadir, Sadiq and Fayyaz were arrested on a tip-off. “They have confessed to stealing bones and selling them,” the SHO said. Shahid said the suspects had told police that they sold these bones to people who practiced black magic. He said the suspects had told him in magical rites the bones were eaten, grinded or burnt. Akram Rafiq, a resident of Sharifpura, said the police carried out the raid after residents protested against the desecration of graves on Saturday and demanded exemplary punishments for the criminals. He said the police should also take action against those who buy the bones. SHO Waheed Shahid said a crackdown would also be launched against those who purchased the bones.
