PESHAWAR:

The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) approved setting up a new power subdivision to overcome power outages and overloading in the upper region of Swat on Monday at WAPDA House.

“The new power subdivision would be set up at Khwazakhela, which will help tackle power overloading issues in upper Swat and Shangla district,” informed Pesco spokesperson Shaukat Afzal.

On the occasion, Pesco Chief Executive Tariq Sadozai briefed Adviser to the Prime Minister Amir Muqam on the current power situation in the province.

Muqam asked Pesco officials to ensure that work starts on the Madyan power grid station within a month and also directed the company to acquire land for setting up a 132KV grid station in Besham.
