Policeman sent on remand
He was allegedly involved in extortion.

A policeman was sent on Friday to police custody remand in connection with his alleged involvement in an extortion case by an anti-terrorism court. According to the prosecution, police constable Haider Ali was caught red-handed when he went to collect ‘protection money’ of Rs30,000 from the complainant of the case, Ubaidullah, in Shah Faisal Colony. A case under sections 385 and 386 of the Pakistan Penal Code read with section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997, was lodged against him at Shah Faisal Colony police station. An in-charge judge of the ATC remanded the suspect till March 5.
