Religious groups band together to protest blast at Baba Farid shrine
Members of different religious groups participated in a procession near the shrine, condemning the attacks.

A complete strike was observed here on Monday in protest against the blast near the shrine of Hazrat Baba Farid
Ganj Bakhsh (RA). Thousands participated in different protests against the terrorist attack that claimed five lives and injured over 13 people.
A large procession of members of different religious parties led by Syed Hamad Shah Chishty, Khalilur Rehman Shah, Allama Akhtar Raza Qadri, Hafiz Nizamud Din Jami and others. Members of different religious groups participated in the procession and unequivocally condemned the attacks. The participants were carrying placards and banners with slogans against the administrative negligence of the Punjab government.
A large police contingent accompanied the procession to prevent any untoward incident. The rally passing through the bazaars and roads ended peacefully in the afternoon at Central Chowk. Meanwhile, in Multan, Pakistan Muslim League (Funcional) central joint secretary Alhaaj Mohammad Ashraf Qureshi strongly condemned the blast at the shrine of Hazrat Baba Fareeduddin Masaood Ganj Shakar. The PML-F leader termed the attack as a conspiracy by the enemies of Pakistan to create unrest. “No Muslim can commit such a heinous act because the ulema, mashaikh and saints have always spread a message of peace and harmony,” he said.
