Future home of PN fleet: Senate body visits Ormarah naval base
Pakistan Navy measures aimed at socio-economic uplift of Baloch populace along Makran coastal belt.
KARACHI:
The 13-member delegation of Senate Standing Committee on Defence undertook a detailed visit of Jinnah Naval Base of Ormarah in Balochistan coast near Iran, considered a future home port of PN Fleet. On the occasion they were briefed about various PN developmental projects that will help achieve early commencement of sustained fleet operations on the Makran coast. According to public relations department of PN, the delegation headed by Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, visited facilities and installations of Pakistan Navy at Karachi and other coastal areas of the country during a three-day programme that concluded Sunday. The senators were also briefed on the indigenization programme of Pakistan Navy during their visit to Pakistan Navy Dockyard, submarine centre and Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works. The committee was extensively briefed on the nation building efforts along the Makran coast and PN measures aimed at socio-economic uplift of Baloch populace along the Makran coastal belt.
