Non-prosecution: Acid attack plea dismissed
Female lawyer seeks case against her husband for allegedly throwing acid on her.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Naeem Ahmed on Friday dismissed a petition filed by a female lawyer seeking a case against her husband for allegedly throwing acid on her. Munawar Shahzadi told the court that the police were not reregistering a case against her husband Zeeshan Butt. She said she had suffered burns to her shoulder after her husband threw acid at her at their home at Lajpat Road in Shahdara. She said when she approached Shahdara station house officer, he did not entertain her application. She asked the court to direct the SHO to register a case. On Friday, the judge dismissed the petition after the petitioner did not turn up before the court.
