Increased vigilance: Suicide vest defused
People who left behind the vest escaped.
PESHAWAR:
The Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) defused an explosive-laden suicide vest found abandoned along with a motorcycle in Achini by unidentified militants on Friday afternoon. Police said a mobile of Sarband police was on routine patrol when the policemen spotted two suspicious people riding a motorcycle. When the police tried to intercept them they escaped, leaving behind their bike and a bag. When BDS personnel inspected the bag, they found a suicide vest in it. “It was a suicide vest with eight kilogrammes of high [intensity] explosives in it,” explained an official of the local police station, adding a search operation was launched to arrest the two suspects but they probably escaped to Shalober area of Khyber Agency.
