ISLAMABAD:

In order to prevent houses and hotels from being used for terrorist activities, the Islamabad district administration has issued two separate orders prohibiting renting property to tenants or hotel rooms to people without prior consent of the police.

Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Deputy Commissioner Mujahid Sherdil in his capacity as a district magistrate issued the orders on Friday. The orders will remain in force for two months, the police said.

The first order prohibits all property dealers, brokers and homeowners to rent property without informing the relevant police station.

The order requires providing the particulars of tenants to the police by filling a form designed by Senior Superintendent Police (Operations) Muhammad Rizwan.

The second order directs owners and managers of hotels, motels and guesthouses to only give a room to a guest after providing the guest’s information to the police.
