LAHORE:

The Lahore High Court on Monday allowed the federal government more time, once again, to submit a reply to a petition seeking the disqualification of Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar.

Earlier, the petitioner’s counsel had said Sarwar‘s appointment was in violation of the constitution.

He said Sarwar had left Pakistan when it was in a state of crisis.

He said such a person could not be appointed as governor in the spirit of the Constitution.

A law officer of the federal government requested the court for more time to file a reply.

Justice Mansoor Ali Shah adjourned the hearing until March 3.

The court had previously also allowed the government time to submit a reply.
