Employment Opportunity: PTCL launches internship programme

In 2012, 500 university graduates were selected through a competitive process under the same programme.

ISLAMABAD:
The Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has decided to launch a one-year paid ‘Internship Programme 2014’. The programme will enable fresh graduates to develop an essential skill-set and gain experience, required to compete in today’s fast-paced and challenging job market. PTCL President and CEO Walid Irshad said the company believed in contributing towards the socio-economic progress of the country through various community development initiatives. “I am confident that such programmes will play an important role in capacity-building and nourishment of the country’s human capital and future leaders,” he added. PTCL Chief Human Resource Officer Syed Mazhar Hussain said that under this programme in 2012, 500 university graduates were selected through a competitive process. “The previous internship programme offered 50 top performers of the batch an opportunity to work as full-time employees at PTCL, while 100 interns were hired by various organisations.”
