The family members included three brothers, two women and three children.
The police and forensics team are currently investigating the crime scene and gathering evidence such as DNA and fingerprints.
The police stated that nothing was stolen from the family's residence, leading them to believe that the motivation for the crime was family enmity.
Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of the situation and an FIR will be registered shortly.

You'd think there'd be a limit to the madness that's besieged this country already, and then you see this: women and children murdered over family enmity. I don't know if it's the defective security provided by an indifferent government or just the drastic turnover in social thinking, but I can only say that the moment your own family members are no longer safe is the moment you've hot rock bottom. Something has to change, and soon.
@Azi... Its our mistakes that's why God doesn't listen to us... People have no fear of Allah in their hearts that's why crimes like this take place.. May Allah protect us all
I have stopped asking God for help, he doesn't listen to his people anymore. All I can say is that as sad as this event gets, the dead are now finally free of this agony that is this country.
@Professor: Disarm, disarm the population or perish !! Agree but the victims were slaughtered not shot. Pakistan is in a dire need to improve security and learn how to investigate crimes.
Who cares about the security situation when we have Metro Buses in Lahore?
What's going on in the country? There is total breakdown of law and order. Is the government capable of doing anything other than "taking notices"?
