Environmental outreach: Larkana’s forest officer wants more trees
Officer says it was mandatory to boost up the social forestry practices in towns, talukas and districts.

To combat climate and environmental hardships, a request to start a spring tree plantation campaign was made by the Larkana divisional forest officer, Muhammad Ali Unar. He sent the request in a circular letter addressed to the commissioner, deputy commissioner, vice-chancellor of Shaheed Mohatarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University and 35 other drawing and disbursing officers. In his letter, he said it was mandatory to boost up the social forestry practices in towns, talukas and districts. He further requested the government officers to make this season successful by planting maximum number of trees in offices, government buildings and other places to achieve the targets of tree plantation and make the district greener. He further wrote that the planting stock was available at nurseries, forest nursery near Circuit House in Larkana and Range Office in Dokri and Naundero. Copies of this letter have also been sent to the chief conservator of forests in Sindh.
