Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information Technology Shahram Khan Tarakai on Monday said that the provincial government was on the course to initiate several programmes that will be designed to impart modern education in information technology to the youth of the province.


Addressing participants at Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIKI) of Engineering and Science Technology at Topi as the chief guest during a three-day science exhibition, Awami Jamhoori Ittehad Pakistan’s (AJIP) leader from Swabi said that to compete with developing nations of the world it is imperative that institutions on the model of GIKI be established in the country.

He said that majority of the problems faced by the country today could be solved by achieving technological advancement in modern education. He also added that the government was planning to appoint 14,000 teachers in government schools in the near future so as to enable students with a proper infrastructure for education.

Why are they wasting their time in educating teachers? They should have spent billions on some festival instead because it gets more media coverage. No one cares about education and vaccination programs anyway.
