Bangalore required only 18 runs from 12 balls with four wickets in hand. Robin Uthappa (34), who hit two sixes in the previous over to bring down the required rate, was dismissed first.
Ryan Harris, RP Singh and Harmeet Singh finished with a couple of wickets each after Rahul Dravid and Jacques Kallis added 74 for the second wicket to keep the match in balance. Uthappa continued the good work but to no avail.
Earlier, Deccan lost three wickets for 14 runs. But Rohit Sharma (51) and Monish Mishra (41) added 82 for the fourth wicket. Mishra was dismissed but Sharma continued, posting a half-century and giving his bowlers a total to defend.
