Public education: Secondary school exams from March 1

The Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education has announced that the Secondary School Annual Examination would commence on March 1.


A statement issued on Thursday said over 2,100,000 students were expected to take the exam.


BISE authorities said 3,748 examination centers had been set up. They said 1,273,791 students would appear for grade 9 exams and 868,720 students would appear for grade 10 examinations. The largest number of students will be appear from Lahore (431,279).


The statement said roll number slips of the candidates would be uploaded on the BISE website by February 16. The board said superintendents, deputy superintendent, and invigilators had been finalised and were under training.


As many as 1,500 female superintendents and 1,890 male superintendents have been designated for exam duties. The board also selected 1,900 female deputy superintendents, 2,200 male deputy superintendents and 14,000 female invigilators and 18,978 male invigilators.


BISE Lahore Chairman Muhammad Nasrullah Virk said staff appointed at 772 examination centres would attend orientation sessions under the BISE Lahore in Kasur, Nankana Sahib, Sheikhupura and Lahore.
