Economic revival: K-P to have its own steel mill

Mill besides catering to province’s needs of steel will provide job opportunities to about 35,000 people says Wazir

Chief Minister (CM) Pervez Khattak said on Friday the government would provide all essential facilities to anyone who is willing to invest in the province and improve its economy. Khattak was talking to a delegation of industrialists led by Industrial Estate Association and Frontier Foundry Pvt Ltd. Chairman Nauman Wazir during a meeting at the CM Secretariat. Wazir said his firm would set up a modern steel mill at Hattar Industrial Estate, the first of its kind in the province, with a total investment of Rs7 billion and production capacity of 650,000 metric tons per year. “The mill besides catering to the province’s needs of steel will also provide job opportunities to about 35,000 people,” said Wazir. Khattak welcomed the move and asked for a formal proposal in this regard.
