The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led coalition government will fulfil all its promises to the people, including its assurances of eradicating corruption and bribery, said Chief Minister (CM) Pervez Khattak.

As the chief guest, Khattak expressed his views at the inaugural ceremony of ‘Khud Kafalat scheme’ (self-employment), jointly organised by Bank of Khyber (BoK) and the CM Secretariat’s industries department. With an initial budget of Rs2 billion, the scheme aims to provide interest-free business loans, ranging from Rs50,000 to Rs200,000, to young entrepreneurs for a period of three years through the BoK.

The CM termed the scheme an important step towards reducing unemployment and poverty in the province and assured the government will allocate Rs2 billion every year for the scheme.

“The ratio of unemployment and poverty has increased, which has led to social problems.” Khattak claimed the young generation is getting involved in other activities because of their economic conditions, which is a matter of great concern.
