Hygiene and safety: Restaurants, petrol pumps fined
Fines amounting to Rs26,000 were imposed on on four food outlets, at least five pumps were fined Rs165,000 in total.

ISLAMABAD:
The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration fined five food outlets on Tuesday for violating hygiene and sanitation laws. According to press release, Food Assistant Director Muhammad Afzal inspected food outlets in I-10 Markaz and imposed fines amounting to Rs26,000 on four food outlets for unhygienic conditions in the kitchens.
Separately, Saddar Assistant Commissioner (AC) Rabia Aurangzeb and City AC Waqas Rashid conducted inspections of
filling stations in
their jurisdictions for violations of the Shop Act, inadequate firefighting equipment, and violations of the Weight and Measurement Act. At least five pumps were fined Rs165,000 in total for lacking firefighting equipment and other violations.

The official also conducted price checking and imposed fines on the profiteers for not displaying rate lists. He directed the food outlets to improve hygiene levels or face action.
