Larkana thrash Karachi by nine wickets

Unfancied team shock powerhouse in T20 Cup.

KARACHI: Spinner Imtiaz Ali picked four wickets as Larkana Bulls stunned Karachi Dolphins by nine wickets to jump on top of Group A in the Faysal Bank T20 Cup in Islamabad.  

Karachi was dismissed for 94 in 18.3 overs after figures of four for 16 by spinner Ali.

Opener Khurram Manzoor was the only batsman to excel for Karachi with 51.

Ahsan Ali led the successful run-chase with a brisk 54 off 38 as Larkana achieved the target in 13.1 overs. Larkana now head Group A.

In another group match, Sialkot Stallions outwitted Hyderabad Hawks by 39 runs following superb knocks from national stars Imran Nazir (93) and Shoaib Malik (65).

In Group B, Multan Tigers outclassed Karachi Zebras by 49 runs while Faisalabad Wolves overcame Islamabad Leopards by 15 runs in a Group C encounter.

Favourites Lahore Lions also registered a comfortable win, trouncing Dera Murad Jamali Ibexes by 82 runs in Group D.
