The Punjab government will convert all water ponds across the Punjab into playgrounds, MPA Manshaullah Butt said on Sunday.



Butt was addressing a special prize distribution ceremony at the Government Murray College, Sialkot, for positions holders in the Punjab Youth Festival. Butt said converting ponds into playgrounds would provide basic facilities to the youths for promotion of sports.DCO Iftikhar Ali Sahu  and Government  Murray College Principal Javaid Akhtar Billah were also present.

Butt also said that the chief minister had released a special development fund of Rs235 million to establish advanced science laboratories and to upgrade different government schools in Sialkot , Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin , Hafizabad and Gujranwala districts. Of this, he said, Rs53 million has been released for Sialkot district, Rs47.7 million for Gujranwala district, Rs19.5 million for Hafizabad district, Rs52.2 million for Gujrat district, Rs32 million for Narowal district and Rs39.6 million for Mandi Bahauddin.
