According to a notification issued from the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Home and Tribal Affairs department, the provincial government has asked its federal counterpart to suspend mobile networks from 7am to 5pm. Meanwhile, it has also imposed a ban on motorcycle riding in the district today.
A statement issued from the office of K-P Home and Tribal Affairs Secretary Syed Akhtar Ali Shah disclosed that around 0.4 million children of Peshawar district will be administered anti-polio drops by 3,620 health officials and volunteers, for which 1,810 teams of 3,620 police personnel accompanied by police commandos and 3,620 community police members have been assigned to provide security.
The statement further mentioned that 26,600 police volunteers will be deputed to provide security to the health workers across the province where concerned police officials and deputy commissioners will be monitoring the campaign. Moreover, the Sunday leave of police officials has been cancelled and additional forces comprising frontier reserve police and community police personnel have been called in.
