The amfAR New York Gala
The amfAR New York Gala is the official kickoff to New York Fashion Week
The amfAR New York Gala is the official kickoff to New York Fashion Week and the Foundation’s signature annual benefit in New York City. The star-studded black-tie gala is eagerly anticipated as a highlight of the city’s philanthropic and social calendar.
This year, the charity soiree could easily have been mistaken for a Victoria’s Secret reunion as supermodels spent time together for what was surely one of the most glamorous annual fashion events of the year.
Coco Rocha
The model looked stunning in an orange, black, blue and white colour-block Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2014 Couture gown straight off the Paris runway. The cape-like design with a body-contouring effect was simple, and her minimal make-up and kohl-rimmed eyes allowrd the dress to be the main attraction.
Dree Hemingway
While everyone followed the status quo and sported a gown, Dree marched to the beat of her own drum, wearing a super chic Chloé Resort 2014 look featuring a navy top, white ruffled shirt and loose-fit pants.
Chanel Iman
Chanel kept it minimal, simple and chic. She made a grand entrance, donning a simple crisp white Calvin Klein dress with silver sandals. No one does understated chic quite as well as Calvin Klein.
Kelly Rowland
Kelly kept herself fresh-faced at the event. She was clad in a black and white ruffle hem Juan Carlos Obando Resort 2014 dress. The metallic pumps and statement jewellery complemented her dress.
Erin Heatherton
The model was the epitome of elegance as she walked the red-carpet, wearing a fully sequined, one-shoulder silver Kaufman Franco gown, styled with a black clutch and hot-red lips.
Lindsay Ellingson
With snow still on the ground in New York City, it was surprising to see a summery look on the red carpet. Regardless, Lindsay looked pretty in her white and yellow canopy print Wes Gordon Resort 2014 gown.
Karlie Kloss
Karlie is an absolute stunner on the runway, but when it comes to the red carpet, she always underwhelms a tad. This LBD, styled with all-black accessories, including black patent leather open-toe shoe-boots, is so not gala appropriate. A little bit of a glamorous touch would have been appreciated.
Michelle Rodriguez
The Fast and Furious actor is often a miss on the red carpet, but on this occasion, she got the glamour memo as she wore a beautiful caramel-hued Alberta Ferretti gown with a twisted accent on the waist. To complete her look, she styled her outfit with a spectacular diamond necklace and ring from the Avakian Haute Joaillerie collection.
Jessica Hart
Another diva flaunting the non-gown frame of mind was Jessica Hart. She looked tantalizing as she owned a fierce look on the red carpet, in a Louis Vuitton Spring 2014 look with the main attractions being her feathered and embroidered jacket, bold lip and quiffed hairdo.
