Zakir Khan to replace Moin Khan as Pakistan manager: PCB

Former Pakistan Test fast-bowler Zakir Khan was appointed to the post of manager of the national cricket team on Friday, Express News reported.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced today that Zakir, 50, will replace ex-team captain and former Pakistan manager Moin Khan.

This is the second time since the start of the year that Zakir has changed posts. In January, he had been promoted to the post of Director International Cricket by the PCB.


Before his stint with domestic cricket, he had also served as general manager, international cricket.

Zakir’s appointment is another initiative that the board has taken after PCB Chairman Zaka Ashraf was restored by the Islamabad High Court last month.

In January, the PCB had advertised vacancies for coaches for the national team besides forming a committee to hunt the best candidates for the slots, a consultancy plan for the 2015 World Cup was also revealed.
