Provision of facilities: ‘Computer labs for 5,515 schools’

Science laboratories established in 1,000 high schools in province with estimated cost of Rs1 billion.

FAISALABAD:
“The provincial government has established computer labs at more than 5,515 schools in the province in the last five years,” Executive District Officer (Education) Shahida Sohail said on Wednesday. She said 515 labs of these laboratories had been established for middle schools. She said the rest had been set up at high schools. “Science laboratories have also been established in 1,000 high schools in the province with an estimated cost of Rs1 billion,” she added. Sohail said the government was also spending Rs12 billion for the provision of scholarships to more than 50,000 students under the Endowment Fund Programme. She said more than 75,000 teachers had been recruited on merit.
