Ninety-year-old Agha Muhammad Hassan Jamal Siddiqui and his 60-year-old daughter, Khalida Mumtaz, 60, were found dead inside their residence, at the Mehran Apartment Extension located in Block 16, Gulshan-e-Iqbal. The bodies were moved to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for autopsy. “The woman was found at her bedroom’s carpet and her father was on the sofa,” DSP Nasir Lodhi told The Express Tribune. Siddiqui was a retired officer of the Telephone Exchange and since his retirement, had been living with his daughter on the third floor of the apartment. “It appears that the incident took place on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday. Both the victims were stabbed to death and we have found a knife and a dagger from the crime scene,” said the officer, adding that the initial investigation suggested that they were killed during a robbery as the cash, jewellery and other valuables could not be found in the flat.

Separately, a young man, 30-year-old Hafiz Bashir, and his mother, 60-year-old Hafeeza Bibi, were found dead from inside their residential apartment. The police found the deceased after the neighbourers informed them and shifted the bodies to the hospital. Quoting the doctors, police officials said that the victims died after consuming some poisonous substance.

In Quaidabad, the body of a 35-year-old man was found near the Murghi khana stop. Police officials said that the deceased was killed after being kidnapped. His body was shifted to the Edhi morgue for identification after medico-legal formalities were completed at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.
