SHABQADAR:
A blast damaged part of a boys primary school in Konra colony in Shabqadar on Tuesday morning , while another bomb was also defused at the same location.

A police official confirmed the incident and told The Express Tribune that unidentified persons had put five kilogrammes of explosive materials in an oil can which exploded at around 3am this morning.

The blast damaged a room in the school and its veranda.

Police visited the school after the blast and found another locally made 5kg explosive, which was successfully diffused by the Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU) before it could do any damage.

Police conducted a search operation in the area but no suspect was arrested until the filing of this report.

The primary school was built by Mohmand Agency authorities but was located in Shabqadar. The area has been disputed since 1998.

The number of destroyed schools in Mohmand Agency is greater than 110, while around 10 schools have been blown up in Charsadda in the past five years.
