Government plot: Ex-CJP to get possession next month
Justice (retd) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry will take possession of the Rs30 million plot.

The Federal Government Housing Foundation (FGHF) will give possession of one kanal plot to the former chief justice next month. Justice (retd) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry had applied for the plot two weeks before his retirement under the government quota policy. After approval from the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, the FGHF approached the Capital Development Authority for a plot in Sector D-12 and the CDA allotted the plot and submitted a summary with the foundation. Chaudhry will take possession of the Rs30 million plot next month. Oddly, in Aug 2009, Chaudhry was among a number of judges who were issued allotment letters, but the then-registrar of the SC wrote a letter to the foundation stating Chaudhry had refused to accept the offer letter.
