Mutilated bodies of man, woman found
Police believe it’s the same couple that eloped a week ago.
MULTAN:
Mutilated bodies of a man and a woman were recovered from a forest in Cheechawatni in Sahiwal district on Monday.
Police were informed and the bodies were sent to the district headquarters hospital for post-mortem examination.
Saddar Station House Officer Chaudhry Saeed Ahmed told The Express Tribune that a man and a woman, both residents of Block 3, had reportedly eloped a week ago. They families had filed complaints.
He said the police were trying to establish the identity of the deceased. He said the deceased appeared to be in their 20s, the same age as the “eloped couple”.
He said announcements had been made from the area mosque to seek help with the identification. He said the bodies were in a bad shape.
Missing boy found dead
Residents of the area found the body of a 15-year-old boy in a sugarcane field in Layyah. The boy, a class nine student, had gone missing on January 27 on his way to school.
The body, found by some farmers, was sent to the district headquarters hospital for a post-mortem examination. Doctors said the boy had been gang raped before he was killed. DPO Ghazi Salahuddin said the police were looking for the suspects.
