KARACHI:

The Sindh Assembly passed on Monday a resolution against the attack on a DSNG van of the Express Media Group that killed three employees. The resolution was moved by Muttahida Qaumi Movement MPA Syed Nadeem Razi, Syed Khalid Ahmed, Arif Bhatti and Naheed Begum.

Meanwhile, a resolution against the attack on the polio vaccination team in Qayyumabad created uproar in the house and led deputy speaker Shehla Raza to adjourn the session till Tuesday. Khuram Sher Zaman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had moved the resolution against the attack and wanted the Sindh government to ask its federal counterpart to make polio vaccination mandatory for every child in the country. He suggested a law that denies birth certificates, passports and school admissions to those who have not received vaccinations.

As soon as he finished reading, information minister Sharjeel Memon asked him to name those who attacked the polio team. He suggested the MPA revise his resolution and quote names. This led to a heated argument after which Raza adjourned the session till Tuesday.
