Enforcing standards: Food outlets inspected for quality

Notices issued to 97 food outlets and fined 38 others during the past week for selling substandard food.

ISLAMABAD: The authorities claimed it has issued notices to 97 food outlets and fined 38 others during the past week for selling substandard food. According to the Capital Development Authority (CDA), two teams of the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) randomly inspected restaurants, stalls, hotels and shops. The DHS teams confiscated 30 utensils, 24 custard packets, 36 litres of drinking water, three chemical drums, 158 snack packs and 15 litres of ketchup for being substandard or expired, a CDA official said. A team also sealed kitchen of a restaurant in Sector F-10 for violation.
