Inflation: SPI down 0.34% during week
Average prices of 11 items registered a decrease while those of 11 items recorded an increase.
ISLAMABAD:
The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended January 30 has registered a decrease of 0.34% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI for the week under review for the above mentioned group was recorded at 198.74 points against 199.42 recorded in the previous week, according to provisional figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for the combined income group decreased by 0.38% during the week under review, standing at 207.98 points against 208.78 in the previous week. Compared to the corresponding week last year, the SPI for the combined group inflated 9.05%. During the week under review, average prices of 11 items registered a decrease while those of 11 items recorded an increase. Prices of the remaining 31 items remained unchanged.
